About Me

f you ask anyone to describe me, the guarantee is they will say animal mad!

After 12 years as a secondary school teacher, in 2015, I decided to finally follow my dream of becoming an Animal Behaviourist and trained with COAPE to achieve Level 4 Diploma In The Principles of Companion Animal Behaviour and Training to pursue a career working as a dog trainer and feline behaviourist. As well as conducting behavioural consultations and training sessions I also run workshops and teach dog training classes from puppies to advanced.

I have been an animal lover and owner all her life and currently have 2 dogs, 2 cats and 3 chickens and some fish! Until recently I also had a horse and continue to be active within the horse world. I have participated in a variety of different fields with my dogs including agility, freestyle to music, flyball, gundog work and worked our way through the Kennel Club Good Citizen scheme.

I am the Coordinator and PAT Assessor for Pets As Therapy for my area. I have also bred spaniels in the past as well as having experience working at a veterinary practice developing knowledge on a range of different medical and behavioural issues and volunteering for the Cats Protection League.

I have a strong passion for Nutrition and how this affects behaviour and quality of life. I have completed the online Nutritional Course with NaturesMenu to become a Raw Feeding Expert Advisor. I am also an Ambassador for the pet food company Butternut Box. I am currently a dog trainer for Dogs For Autism training assistance dogs. I also volunteer for DogAID training owners to train their own dogs to become assistance dogs.

I have attended various CPDs on Canine Physio, Tellington TTouch, Canine Chiropractor, Nutrition and canine psychology.

I have completed many Canine and Advanced Canine First Aid with Rachel Bean RVN and attended various workshops as part of my CPD. I have strong links with local veterinary surgeries.

I carry out my work using force free, positive reinforcement methods. All my work consists of non-aversive or invasive techniques based on trust and mutual respect. With consistency, dedication and careful management, I believe we can conquer the majority of issues. I require an animal to be fully vet checked and request medical history before each consultation.

I am fully insured with public liability and personal indemnity protection as well as DBS cleared.

Charlotte was recommended to me for training as I wanted someone who could handle a 6-month-old Weim. Charlotte is very friendly, funny and approachable excellent with Zabbie. My pup is totally focused on her and loves her to bits. Training is going well! She even goes the extra mile and braved the -5 weather when walking her too!! totally recommended!”
